Ukraine and three other countries have joined expanded EU sanctions on the Kerch Bridge

Ukraine, Montenegro, Albania, Norway joined the decision of the EU Council of October 1, 2020, to expand sanctions against participants in the construction of the Kerch Bridge.

This is stated in a statement by the EU High Representative, the press service of the European Parliament informed.

"Candidate countries Montenegro and Albania, Norway, a member of the European Economic Area, and Ukraine join the decision of the EU Council", - the statement said.

It is noted that these countries will bring their national policies in line with this decision of the EU Council.

"The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it", - the statement said.

  • In October, the European Union expanded sanctions against participants in the construction of the Kerch Bridge, blacklisting two individuals and four companies.
  • On October 2, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland joined the extended sanctions of the European Union against the citizens of the Russian Federation and its companies involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge.
  • On October 16, Switzerland also joined EU sanctions for the construction of the Kerch Bridge.
