Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Serhiy Korsunsky said that in order to attract Tokyo to the Crimean platform, a different approach is needed than to Western countries.

He told about it in an interview for TSN.ua.

"We have submitted proposals on this to the Japanese Foreign Ministry. I will have a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan on October 29, hand over copies of credentials, so I'll talk about it. It may not be very noticeable in Kyiv, but Japan is a bit of a specific country. "She has her own mentality, approach and vision of how and what is being done. And here we need a different approach than to Paris, Berlin or London", -  the ambassador said.

It is also noted that Japan needs to create a certain information background in order to understand how Ukraine wants to join Tokyo to the Crimean platform, and "what we want from them".

"Unfortunately, I have to say that this work was a little insufficient. So today the main tool that we are already actively launching is social networks. You will be surprised, but the main thing here is a personal approach. Japan is the only Asian country that has joined to anti-Russian sanctions. Let them be small and apply to 23 individuals. But the principle line is followed. For them it is important. In general, multilateral diplomacy is very important for Japan. They understand how we say that the group and the father are easier to beat", - said Korsunsky.
