Russia is preparing as much as possible for the proliferation of nuclear weapons in Crimea - Danilov
Russia is preparing as much as possible for the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the temporarily occupied Crimea. At the same time, there is no information that Russia has already done so.
This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov during a discussion organized by the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America.
"I can say that Russia, in our opinion, is preparing for this as much as possible. The fact that there may already be nuclear weapons, we do not have such final confirmation. But understanding that this may happen soon, we are well aware that this can happen. It can depend on many factors, and if they see that they are losing, they will definitely use this issue", - said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
He also added that Russia needs Crimea as a base to influence the Black Sea region.
"There is a complete rearmament of the army, there are constant exercises", - said Danilov.
