Under the leadership of the prosecutor's office of the autonomy, the police of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea have launched a criminal investigation into the illegal detention of a 22-year-old resident of the Odessa region on the territory of the occupied peninsula.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reported about it.

It is noted that a citizen of Ukraine came to Crimea on vacation in early September, and on September 22 the young man was detained by the occupiers in occupied Yevpatoria for allegedly public calls to carry out extremist activities on the peninsula.

The occupying "militiamen" took the detainee to Simferopol, where the "Kievsky District Court" chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

The Ukrainian faces up to 10 years in prison.

UPD: According to " Crimea Realia", the name of the detained Ukrainian is Oleksandr Dolzhenkov. He is a geologist by education, a graduate of Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University. The guy has a YouTube channel, where he posts video blogs about traveling in Ukraine and some European countries. The channel now has 185 subscribers.

According to the occupiers, Dolzhenkov came to Crimea to find accomplices in order to destabilize the socio-political situation in the region.

According to the occupation security forces, the Ukrainian distributed leaflets, calling for "violation of Russia's territorial integrity".

Now the Ukrainian is in the pre-trial detention center №1 of Simferopol.
