EU ambassadors are to approve on September 28 expansion of sanctions against Russians undermining Ukraine's sovereignty

The European Union can expand the existing list of people who may be subject to sanctions for undermining or threatening Ukraine's territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty. This decision can be approved on Monday, September 28, at the level of ambassadors of EU member states.
This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing its sources in the European Council.
"The Permanent Representatives Committee is ready to give the green light to start the written procedure to approve the decision a few days later", - the European Council said.
What is known
- In the coming weeks, the European Union will approve the imposition of sanctions against individuals and companies involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge, a decision on which was blocked by Cyprus.
- On September 3, it was reported that the situation with the EU's sanctions work is complicated by the fact that Cyprus is blocking the EU's work on sanctions against those responsible for the construction of the Kerch Bridge and cyber attacks against the Bundestag in 2015.
