Foreign Ministry responds to Hizb ut-Tahrir cases

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has strongly protested against the illegal decision of the court of the Russian Federation on sentences of seven citizens of Ukraine, participants of the second Bakhchisaray group "Hizb ut-Tahrir".

It was reported by the Foreign Ministry.

"The Russian Federation must overturn the court's decision and immediately release Marlen Asanov, Memet Belyalov, Server Zekiryaev, Timur Ibragimov, Server Mustafayev, Seyran Saliyev and Edem Smailov, as well as all illegally detained Ukrainian citizens", - the Foreign Ministry informed in a statement.

According to the agency, the pre-trial investigation and trial took place with numerous procedural violations and in conditions of complete disregard for the evidence provided by the defence that the accused were not involved in the incriminated acts.

It is noted that "the final point of this shameful process" was today's court verdict.

"Terrible terms of imprisonment on blatantly fabricated accusations of terrorist activity are a clear indication of how the occupying power is actively using its anti-terrorism legislation to disguise systemic political repression and religious discrimination against members of the Crimean Tatar people to intimidate and intimidate them. civil movements and initiatives on the temporarily occupied Crimean semi-island", - the Foreign Ministry said.

In the report also says that the courage and principled news of Ukrainian citizens in defending their rightness and innocence during the "farce" process deserves special respect.

Besides, the Foreign Ministry appealed to the international community to respond in all ways to the decisions of the occupying state and its actions against Ukrainian citizens.
