Correspondents of the Suspilne Crimea learned about it.

Why do you need to be vaccinated?

“The vaccine helps protect yourself and others from contracting the disease. Vaccination is the only way out of a pandemic. People need to be encouraged to get vaccinated. Vaccination of billions of people will accelerate the development of collective immunity, the sooner the immunity develops, the sooner we will return to normal life, that is, prevention is the best way than treating the disease”, - doctor, neurologist Alexander Sorokа said.

According to therapist Anna Baksheeva - vaccination is the only safe method to acquaint the body with the danger, that is, only through vaccination we can control deadly diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus and the same coronavirus.

Vaccines are available in Ukraine

“The CORONAVAC vaccine, made in China, is live, inactivated, that is, there is a whole virus that is in chemical conditions. They were killed in the laboratory, and then the virus was introduced into the human body. Thus, the body becomes acquainted with the whole virus, with all its particles, and in response to this antibodies are produced. This guarantees us that after the next encounter with this virus, the body will cope with it”, - she said.

The next vaccine available in Ukraine is the RNA (Matrix Ribonucleic Acid) vaccine - PFIZER or MODERNA. These are "instructions" for the body, where only a particle of the virus appears. This is an adhesion protein that is on the surface of the virus. According to the doctor, there is no difference between these vaccines, they are almost identical. Vaccines from different manufacturers, but they are the same in effectiveness.

This "instruction" in the lipid, fat membrane, we enter in the form of a vaccine, and in response to this, the cell begins to synthesize adhesive protein, and this protein is already produced in the body. This MRNA, it can only penetrate into the cytoplasm of the cell, where it looks for a ribosome - this is a special factory that produces this protein. That is, it does not go anywhere beyond the cytoplasm, that is, it does not get into the nucleus, where the genetic material is stored”, - Baksheeva said.

Another vaccine currently available in Ukraine is ASTRA ZENEKA. This is a vector vaccine, the principle is the same as the previous vaccine. The only thing is that the adenovirus is not used, but the adenovirus. With the help of this adenovirus, this structure is also conditionally delivered to the body, penetrates the cell and there also begin to synthesize this protein.

Strain "Delta"

"Vaccinated people do not need to be afraid of the Delta strain, because even if they get sick, they will most likely suffer in a mild form and will not have such complex complications as death. Of course, unvaccinated people should be afraid of this strain, because it spreads faster, it is more contagious, and it is more difficult for young people, ”said therapist Baksheeva.

Who has not yet been vaccinated and for whom vaccination does not pose a threat?

“Officially, children are not vaccinated in Ukraine yet, although it is planned to vaccinate teenagers from 12 to 15 years old. When - it is not yet known.

Also, for pregnant women, nothing new for them, tests continue, but coronavirus disease is not a contraindication. After vaccination, breastfeeding is safe, the antibodies get into the milk, so the baby has protection.

Those who become ill can be vaccinated without changes, should receive two doses, but not later than three months after the co. Without the disease. People with cancer also need to be vaccinated, as well as patients with severe blood diseases”, - doctor Oleksandra Soroka said.

Myths about vaccination

  1. Pfizer vaccine causes infertility in women.
  2. The vaccine affects the menstrual cycle.
  3. Vaccines against COVID-19 cause impotence.
  4. Vaccines cause multiple sclerosis.
  5. The person first refused to be vaccinated of his own free will, then the next vaccination will be paid.
  6. The American Red Cross Association prohibits vaccinated people from donating blood.
  7. Airlines warn their passengers not to travel to avoid developing thrombosis.
  8. Mass vaccination can lead to a coronavirus mutation.
  9. MRNA vaccines are a genetic weapon that alters our genes.

“The man was vaccinated and contracted COVID-19 the next day. This cannot happen. The vaccine does not contain a live virus that could multiply in the body. Most likely, the person was already infected and did not know about it, so the vaccine, on the contrary, will help ease the course of the disease", - Soroka said.

Do those who have already been vaccinated need to wear a mask?

“We still need to wear a mask, as the percentage of vaccinated people is still quite small. Plus, the vaccine doesn't give you a 100% guarantee that you can't catch the virus. The vaccine 100% protects against death, ie if you get sick, you will not die from the coronavirus. The vaccine protects against serious complications”, - doctor Anna Baksheeva says.
