The work of the educational centres "Crimea - Ukraine" and "Donbass-Ukraine" will last until September 24. Thanks to them, entrants from the occupied territories can enter Ukrainian universities under a simplified system.

Anastasia Tereshchuk, a correspondent of the Suspilne Crimea, found out how this year's introductory campaign is going.

The entrant from ORDLO and occupied Sevastopol told why they chose Tavriya National University.

"This university has a Donbass-Ukraine program in management," says an entrant from ORDLO about choosing a university.

A student from occupied Sevastopol says that TNU has a speciality that he wanted to study.

"I chose this institute because there is a speciality that attracts me and in the future, I would like to work in this speciality - sports rehabilitation".

The father of one of the entrants told whether they had problems crossing the administrative border.

"Fortunately, for now, there are no more problems, because the occupation authorities have lifted the ban on leaving the Crimea, that is, it may not be possible to say that it is comfortable, but it is possible".

The head of the educational centres "Crimea-Ukraine" and "Donbass-Ukraine" Yulia Kobylina told about the documents to be submitted by the entrant from the occupied territories.

“Applicants must provide us with the following documents: first of all, the application they fill out with us, then the certificates of independent evaluation from 2018 to 2021 to choose from, if any. Further, a certificate of registration of displaced persons, if any, if, for example, a child does not have a certificate of parental or guardian status in accordance with the Law of Ukraine on the Status of Displaced Persons, if such a situation exists, applies especially to applicants from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Then 4 photos ¾ and a document on education. We are waiting for young people from the occupied territories".

Director of the Crimea-Ukraine Center Oleksandr Besarab told how many entrants applied to educational centres and what they are interested in.

"Because we work only the second day because the eye-opening was a total of 8 people. Three were from Donbas and five were from the territory of Crimea.

Not only entrants but also 10th-grade students come to the educational centre.

The father of the entrant from occupied Sevastopol told how they plan to take the external examination.

"We arrived in advance because the child finished the 10th grade and he has another year to study. With the help of the University's specialists, we are trying to determine which algorithm is best for us, whether to enter the 11th grade in the controlled territory and pass the external examination or take advantage of the preferential program for children from the occupied territories. We will probably still use the preferential program".

The father also told why they chose TNU.

"Vernadsky University, from the very beginning, when it was transferred from the Crimea, was focused mostly on applicants from the Crimea. Since we understand that we have certain problems with competition for children studying from 1st to 11th grade in the controlled area, so we decided to turn to Vernadsky, to the Crimean university".
