Russia is conducting large-scale military exercises near the Ukrainian border, in particular, the occupiers in the occupied Crimea have deployed additional S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and are threatening the Crimeans with terrorist attacks by Ukraine, the EU and NATO.

Suspilne Crimea found out what was happening.

Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated Russia would face "cost and consequences" if aggression against Ukraine intensified.

"I must say that I have a real concern about Russia's actions on the border with Ukraine. More Russian troops are now gathered on these borders than ever since 2014, when Russia first invaded", - he said.

It is also noted that the United States is "in very close contact" with allies and partners in Europe, and they all "share our concerns".

Anthony Blinken met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and discussed the need to immediately stop the concentration of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine.

Blinken and Stoltenberg stressed the need for Russia to immediately stop aggressive military preparations along Ukraine's borders and in the occupied Crimea.

On the 13 of April, the Central Intelligence Agency reported that the Russian Federation was using uncontrolled sections of the Ukrainian-Russian border to transfer hundreds of military personnel and thousands of tons of fuel to ORDLO.

In addition, the command of the RF Armed Forces increases control over the storage of military property in units and subdivisions of the Russian occupation forces. Among the planned measures are unannounced inspections of the availability of fuel and lubricants in warehouses and warnings that all officials responsible for the shortages of property imported from Russia will be immediately removed from office and brought to justice.

On the same day, representatives of the G7 and the European Union called on Russia to stop provocations and abide by its international obligations.

"We call on Russia to end provocations and to immediately de-escalate tensions in accordance with its international obligations. In particular, we call on Russia to adhere to the OSCE principles and commitments it has signed on the transparency of military movements and to respond to the procedure set out in Chapter III of the Vienna", - was informed in the message.

On Wednesday, 14 of April, artillery and tank reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, along the border with the temporarily occupied Crimea, began military exercises.

According to the legend of the exercises, the tank unit with the support of infantry tried to break through the line of our defence.

"During the reconnaissance, the main fire forces of the enemy were identified. In order to counter, a tank reserve and anti-tank artillery were introduced into the battle", - the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev informed.

According to satellite images, it became known that in the occupied Crimea, Russian troops deployed additional anti-aircraft missile systems S-400.

It is noted that the range of S-400 anti-aircraft systems can reach 400 km, which allows the Russian occupation forces to control almost the entire airspace of the Black Sea.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Colonel Kirill Budanov, informed that the deployment of full Russian troops on the border with Ukraine could be completed on April 20. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the total number of troops should increase to 110,000.

"After the deployment is completed, their total number may be 56 battalion tactical groups. Conditionally, we expect the completion of the full deployment on the 20th. That is, everyone will arrive on April 20", - Budanov said.

According to him, the main areas of concentration of Russian troops are in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, at the two Opuk and Angarsky ranges, and at the Klintsi and Pogonovo military ranges in the Bryansk and Voronezh regions.

As of April 14, an additional 19 batteries, 1 company tactical group, 10 tactical artillery groups, as well as two special units were transferred to these regions. The tactical group of the 12th missile brigade was moved to the Opuk and Pogonovo test sites and temporarily occupied Crimea, namely six units of OTRK "Iskander M" and a tactical group of the 119th missile brigade, these are 4 Iskander M launchers, - the colonel told.

According to GUR estimates, Russia can implement 3 options for action against Ukraine:

1. Demonstration of force near the state border of Ukraine and in the occupied Crimea by holding military measures.

2. Military operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to solve the problem of water supply to the Crimea with the capture of part of the southern regions of Ukraine.

3. Provoking units of the joint forces to intensify hostilities in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, with further accusations of Ukraine violating existing agreements and Russia conducting a military operation to expand the occupation zone.

On the same day, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held a meeting in occupied Sevastopol to "ensure national security" in Crimea. He stated that there was an alleged threat of terrorist attacks by Ukraine, the EU and NATO.

Political scientist Oleksandr Khara informed Suspilne Crimea news channel that it is normal practice for Russia to intimidate people.

"The Russian Federation is trying, on the one hand, to investigate the situation in Ukraine, on the other hand, it is trying to quarrel with other states and partner states that support us. And, of course, to show that there is terrorism and it is connected with Ukraine, and especially the Islamic factor. Of course, it is an informational influence. Again, it is aimed at Russian citizens in mainland Russia and Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea. That is, intimidation is normal, so to speak, practice", - the political scientist announced.

On the 15 of April, US President Joseph Biden signed a new order on sanctions against Russia due to the actions of its government and special services against US sovereignty and interests.

"President Biden has signed a new sanctions order that would strengthen his powers to demonstrate the administration's determination to respond to and curb Russia's harmful foreign activities. This is a signal that the United States will impose costs on Russia in a strategically and economically significant way if it will continue or intensify its destabilizing international actions", - was informed in the statement.

It also became known that the occupiers will close from next week to October 2021 parts of the Black Sea in the direction of the Kerch Strait for warships and state vessels of other countries under the pretext of military exercises.

"Such actions of the Russian Federation are another attempt to violate the norms and principles of international law to usurp the sovereign rights of Ukraine as a coastal state, as Ukraine has the right to regulate shipping in these areas of the Black Sea", - the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

Later it became known that on the night of April 14-15, 5 boats of the occupying FSS carried out coordinated provocative manoeuvres against three Ukrainian small armoured artillery boats.

According to sources of the BlaskSeaNews Monitoring Group, at night in response to threats from a Russian ship, Ukrainian sailors had to be warned about their readiness to use weapons.
