The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council believes that the level of danger from the Russian military is not as critical as the Western media write.

He said this in an interview with "Apostrophe TV".

"Today I can say that there are no such circumstances (for the immediate imposition of martial law). And if they appear tomorrow, the relevant decisions will be made immediately, no one will procrastinate", - Danilov said.

He warned that such a situation, which took place in 2014, will definitely not happen.

According to Dmytro Snegiryov, co-chair of the Prava Sprava public initiative, martial law is an element of the political game.

"It makes no sense now to say that martial law will be imposed, and especially about the accumulation of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border. This is information from our Western partners, it is mutually exclusive. British sources call up to 100,000 Russian troops, American - 80,000. That is not enough to talk about invasion. There must be several factors for this. First, the number. It must exceed three times the number of the Armed Forces.

To date, the number of the Armed Forces is 250 thousand. There should be a mobilization reserve of the first wave - 150 thousand. As well as the number of servicemen who passed the anti-terrorist operation and environmental protection, about 1.5 million people. It is useless to frighten us with the presence of a military contingent of 100-170 thousand”, - Dmytro Snegiryov told Suspilne Crimea.

He explained that satellite images from the American media, which shows the location of Russian equipment is at a distance of 250 - 300 km. from the state border is not a critical distance to talk about certain threats from Russia.

"In the event of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada is ready to convene urgently to impose martial law or a state of emergency," said Oleksandr Kornienko, first deputy speaker of parliament and a representative of the ruling Servant of the People party, on Radio Svoboda.

"A similar situation was in the days of Peter Alekseevich. More precisely, attempts to impose martial law, but then it haunted political forces", - the expert said.

It will be recalled that two years ago, on November 25, 2018, the Russian military fired and seized three Ukrainian Navy vessels - boats "Berdyansk" and "Nikopol" and tug "Yani Kapu" - bound from Odessa to Mariupol. Russia's FSB has confirmed the use of weapons against Ukrainian ships, the agency claims that three Ukrainian warships "illegally crossed the state border of Russia." Russian courts in Crimea have arrested 24 Ukrainian servicemen, accusing them of part 3 of Art. 322 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal border crossing).

On November 26, 2018, the President signed a decree on the imposition of martial law for a period of 60 days. At 5:30 p.m., the President stated that he would ask the Verkhovna Rada to impose martial law from 9 a.m. on November 28, 2018, throughout Ukraine for a period of 30 days.

On December 26, 2018, a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council was held with the participation of Petro Poroshenko. Martial law in Ukraine was officially abolished.

"The wave of negativity dispersed by the American media does not contribute to an adequate response from the civilian population to the opportunity to critically analyze information and reproduce the moral and patriotic spirit to resist Russian aggression", - Dmitry Snegiryov said.

A gathering of conscripts has been announced for January 20 in the occupied Crimea.

The military expert decided to refute the fake Russian invasion of Ukraine through the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"It is interesting to look at the Muscovites, who will overcome the isthmus under fairly dense fire from the Ukrainian side, because Ukraine's defensive positions are built perfectly", - he said.

Dmytro Snegiryov emphasizes that the mobilization measures have not been confirmed.

"Now Crimea has been turned into a military base and the number of Russian military forces will continue to grow. It is not only about increasing the military contingent, but also re-equipping the Black Sea Fleet", - the military expert said.

But at the same time, he said, there is a danger that "there will be an attempt to forget, to plunge into a swamp" Russian proposals that will not suit Moscow.

"Armed conflicts, bloodshed are not our choice at all, we do not want such a development", - the Russian president said.
