Alexander Lukashenko stated that "Crimea was de facto Russian", and after the occupation and imitation of the referendum "became de jure Russian". Lukashenko said this in an interview with Russia Today Director General Dmitry Kiselyov. Lukashenko also stated that he intends to visit the occupied peninsula. He would like to start such a trip by visiting Sevastopol. The exact date when such a trip could take place has not been determined yet.

This is evidenced by Lukashenko's statements, how Ukraine will respond, how events will unfold and what consequences they will have for Belarus, Yulia Tyshchenko, chairman of the Ukrainian Independent Center for Political Studies and co-founder of the National Dialogue for Peace platform, said. and secure reintegration".

Yulia Tyshchenko noted that such a statement testifies to the trends that have been going on with Lukashenko for a long time:

"By and large, in 2014, when the UN resolution on support for Ukraine's territorial integrity was voted on, Belarus was among the 11 countries, unlike 100 others, that supported the resolution, which did not join the support. This story was not born yesterday, and in 2020 an enhanced resolution on the militarization of Crimea was also not supported by Belarus. There are no surprises here. The only thing before, Lukashenko did not say that Crimea is Russian, he seemed to maintain territorial integrity and was more cautious in his statements. But then there was a different political context, a different political situation".

The expert also reminded about the events that took place on November 4. Then Lukashenko complained that Putin did not invite him to the Crimea during an illegal visit (More on this in the material):

"It simply came to our notice then. This is the escalation of the so-called migration crisis, which was arranged by the Russian secret services under the guise of Lukashenko. Belarus would not be able to implement the appropriate steps even logistically, even organizationally without help, certain sanctions, certain interested interests. Now the escalation on the Ukrainian borders, the increase of these armed forces on the part of the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation and this topic in general are one of the top topics on the agenda of various international organizations, various countries and states. And it is even more interesting today, yesterday he announced such outrageous statements when the next NATO summit is taking place, where the Ukrainian issue of security and various political and diplomatic aspects is also discussed".

According to Yulia Tyshchenko, the strengthening of sanctions against certain companies or individuals from Belarus is possible if Belarus officially recognizes Crimea as Russian, or if certain actions are taken. For example, if Belarusian airlines start flying to the occupied Crimea. Regarding Ukraine's reaction to such statements, in her opinion, it is sufficient:

"By and large, Kuleba has already reacted in his statement, pointing to a certain place in such a general political discourse, to the attitude to what Lukashenko was saying to propagandist Kiselyov. This statement is largely focused on the Russian information space. In the statements of Lukashenko himself, apart from his peculiar exoticism, there were no supernova messages, and the reaction that is there is a necessary reaction. One could, of course, try to characterize it more rigidly at such a diplomatic level, at the embassy level. But I think there may still be such reasons".

The Chairman of the UCIPR Council added that the Crimean Platform could become an element of communications and possibly optimizations for political and diplomatic consultations:

"When the arrest of Nariman Jelal (First Deputy Speaker of the Crimean Tatar People's Majlis, ed.) Was received, we quickly received a reaction, comments from the EU structures and our partners, including those on the Crimean platform. Actualization of the topic of Crimea, including within the framework of the Crimean platform, it strengthens the Ukrainian position and intensifies, including rhetoric and attention to the Crimea.
