On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the birth of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, and member of the Crimean Tatar national movement Amet-Khan Sultan, flowers, read poems and prayers were laid at his monument in the Park of Eternal Glory in Kyiv. The ceremony was attended by members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, public activists and students of the educational center "Crimean Family".

Historian Andriy Ivanets said that Amet-Khan Sultan died in the sky in 1970 during another test of the aircraft.

"He is not an ordinary war test pilot. His name is written in Leborge on the ceiling, it says: "Amet-Khan Sultan is a pilot from God." He was able to test more than a hundred types of aircraft, namely aircraft, helicopters, gliders", - the historian said.

"Amet-Khan Sultan is the only Crimean Tatar who twice became a Hero of the Soviet Unio", - Andriy Ivanets.

“Moreover, he [Amet-Khan Sultan] had to become a Hero of the Soviet Union three times, already because he did as a test pilot, but he did not, precisely because it all happened in Stalin's time, and he did not renounce his Crimean Tatar nationality”, - Ivanets is convinced.

The chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov told the correspondents of the Public Crimea that all those who fight for justice, for their people, deserve honor.

"Amet Khan Sultan combined all this, he was a very brave man, fearless. He loved his land and his people very much”, - Refat Chubarov says.

According to the Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine "Umma" - Said Ismagilov, such historical figures, heroes - they deserve respect.

"Amet Khan Sultan shatters the Soviet myth of the Crimean Tatars, and completely denies the allegedly justified deportation of this people. So the constant reminder of such heroes, it actually breaks the Soviet and Russian propaganda.

For the first time, an orchestra of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine played the Crimean Tatar anthem and haitarma at a rally honoring the memory of test pilot Amet-Khan Sultan. Conductor Yevhen Moskovych told the correspondent of Susypny Crimea about the difficulties of studying Crimean Tatar works.

“The difficulty is that it's a bit of extraordinary music. Compared to the Ukrainian anthem, the melody is difficult to perform. Crimean music is still poorly known to the Ukrainian people, and we are promoting it, and I hope we will continue to perform it".
