Suspilne Crimea, together with Crimean Solidarity, publishes letters from Crimean political prisoners illegally detained by Russia every Friday. The second letter from public activist Izzet Abdullayev.

I am Abdullayev Izzet Mustafayev. Crimean Tatar, Muslim. I was born on October 28, 1986 in Uzbekistan, like many of my peers, because my people were deported from the Crimea at the age of 44.

I am the youngest brother in the family, born in 1984. In 1993 I went to school, and in 1994 our family decided to return home to the Crimea. Upon arrival in the homeland, we settled in the steppe Crimea, in the Pervomaisky district in the village of Sverdlovsk. There I graduated from 11th grade. After entering the school in the city of Simferopol, majoring in gas-electric welder. After graduating from school he returned to his village and worked for about 2 years in the collective farm "Friendship of Peoples". Then life was so ordered that I went from the steppe Crimea to work in the city of Sevastopol for 5 years. He worked in a wholesale warehouse for the sale of auto parts. And most likely, I would have stayed in Sevastopol, but my family decided to move from the Pervomaisky district to Belogorsky. I managed to move to a branch in the city of Simferopol within the company where I worked and be closer to my parents.

In Simferopol, I continued to work as a storekeeper, then became a warehouse manager, and then continued to work as a sales manager. But soon, due to the change of branch director, I had to resign, because the new leadership did not want to put up with the fact that I, as a Muslim, had to visit the mosque on Fridays, disconnecting from work for an hour, at my lunchtime. After resigning, I had to go to work setting up, because at that time I was the only one who worked in the family. The parents are already old. They have already retired after the events of 2014. After the events of 2014, my quiet, measured life ended.

The policy of modern Russia towards my people and my religion has continued the practice of both tsarist and Soviet times. News reports constantly began to report on searches, arrests, missing persons, torture, trials, and fines. For many, as for me, the dimensional quiet life is over. Despite everything that is happening, I could not stay away when trouble concerns my compatriots. I, like many who are now in captivity, started visiting searches, courts, I participated in food transfers in pre-trial detention centers, provided assistance to the families of those who are already in captivity.

In 2015, I got married. In 2016, my first daughter was born. New worries and experiences were added. Fully the essence of what is happening and realizing that sooner or later, like other people, I can also be imprisoned for being active in solving the problems of my people. I also continued to stand in the way of peaceful resistance and the fight against injustice towards my people. In 2018, I and two other people were taken to the extremism centre right from my place of work. The selection of whom to take to the "E" centre was carried out by their employees on the basis of nationality, appearance (beard), religious affiliation. In the same year, Allah comforted us with his wife with the news of another child, we were expecting the birth of another daughter. The year 2019 began restlessly. As expected, I began to notice the tracking behind me. Almost every day I left work accompanied by a car.

And so it happened, at 6:00 am on March 27, 2019, the FSS officers knocked on the door of the house where I lived with my family and my parents. Everything is standard, they threw banned literature and put us under arrest for a terrorist article, and after the article about the violent seizure of power was violated on March 29, 2019, all of us (a group of 23 people) were put on a plane from the Crimea taken to the mainland in Russia in the Rostov region. Thus began a new round in my life, a life in prison. I and three other guys from our group were brought to the city of Shakhty were immediately, as well as especially dangerous criminals, the special unit was closed. While imprisoned, people are destroyed both morally and physically. As for the moral side, it is something that a person is not only deprived of freedom of movement but also simply a human attitude to himself. Disgusting food, the conditions in which the detainees are, leave much to be desired, rats, mice, cockroaches, bedbugs are the constant neighbours of the detainee. Food transfers are limited in many ways, as well as what is allowed to be cut and dried.

On the physical side, too, is not all good. It is being in prison that undermines immunity. The cells are often very cold in winter and unbearably stuffy in summer. Medicine in prison, like Winnie the Pooh honey, it is and immediately it is not. The quality of medicine can be described for a long time, in reality, it works on the principle of breaking the pill in half, one half from the throat, the other from the head and most importantly do not confuse. In general, a stay in a pre-trial detention center is arranged in such a way as to break a person morally, physically and spiritually. And if a person does not have a strong-willed character, a concrete position in life, support both inside the prison and outside it, then the situation of this person is sad!

During my time in prison, I had to visit six prisons. Belief in Allah and observance of his precepts regardless of position and time help in any situation. And one of the most important factors is that the attention from the outside is the support of us with our people (broadcasts, letters, court visits, information coverage, etc.), as well as the support of the Ukrainian consulate, international human rights organizations, discussion and coverage of our situation. levels also forces the entire system of the testimony of the Russian Federation to treat us with special attention. I believe that regardless of the desires of the thermal regime, our faith in Allah, our way of life as Muslims, our support of our people and the Ukrainian society, the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, human rights organizations and all those we care about will lead to untruths. the truth will triumph and everything will return to normal and those who are currently under the oppression of Russian policy will return to a peaceful cloudless Crimea, free from tyranny, injustice and lawlessness.
